Iranian carrier Mahan Air has expanded its ever-growing flight network by launching direct flights between Tehran and the Danish capital Copenhagen.

The carrier now flies directly to Copenhagen twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, ISNA reported.

“The launch of direct flights between Iran and Denmark is testament to the growing relations between the two states,” said Iranian Ambassador to Denmark Morteza Moradian during the flight’s inauguration ceremony in Copenhagen on Thursday.

“The route will facilitate travel between the two countries and bring the Danes and Iranians closer.”

Since the signing of the historic nuclear deal between Iran and the six major world powers (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) last July, numerous foreign airlines have either restarted direct flights or launched new routes to Iran, while a growing number of countries have allowed Iranian airlines to fly direct to their cities.
